    We are working with our partners The Orangutan Project to restore forest in various areas critical to climate change and endangered species. Our first project will be to restore forest on degraded land in the Leuser Ecosystem.

    Our partners, the Orangutan Information Centre have been restoring forest on degraded land in the Leuser Ecosystem since 2008, concentrating on High Conservation Value areas that have been illegally cleared. Each hectare of degraded land is planted with approximately 1,100 seedlings of 20-30 different tree species – all food and habitat for orangutans!

    The Leuser Ecosystem is among the most ancient and life-rich ecosystems ever documented. It is now considered the very last place on earth where Sumatran orangutans, tigers, elephants and rhinos co-exist. It is jungle to be cherished  for its unique fauna and remarkable flora, as well as its influence on our own wellbeing. The protection of these mighty jungles play a crucial role in providing us the oxygen we breathe, as well as being a crucial component in combatting climate change. 

    Every part of this extraordinary ecosystem is essential to the intricate network of nature that allows us to thrive.  The Leuser is among the most ancient and life-rich ecosystems ever documented. It is now considered the very last place on earth where Sumatran orangutans, tigers, elephants and rhinos co-exist.
